About LVS Ascot
...........................................................................................
An independent day and boarding school in Ascot, Berkshire
...........................................................................................
LVS Ascot (the Licensed Victuallers\' School) is an all-ability school of more than 900 pupils located in Ascot, Berkshire, close to London and the neighbouring county of Surrey.
We are a through-school, with both our Primary School and Secondary School located on one spacious, green, airy site. Pupils can begin their school career with us at age 4 and remain in the school until they complete Sixth Form.
We achieve outstanding academic results in both the LVS Ascot Junior and LVS Ascot Senior Schools. Day and boarding students from both schools are able to participate in a wide programme of co-curricular activities.
Pastoral care is a great priority at LVS Ascot. In LVS Ascot Senior School each child is allocated to a house, and within that to a tutor group. House Masters and Mistresses, supported by teams of tutors, oversee the welfare and development of their pupils. In LVS Ascot Junior School, pastoral care is undertaken by the children\'s class teacher.
The school was founded on the ethical teachings, traditions and festivals of Christianity. While we are an inclusive school, embracing all faiths and none, LVS Ascot still takes pride in its Christian roots. We have a Chaplain on our staff who fulfils a pastoral and liturgical role throughout the school.

Welcome to our Junior School
...........................................................................................
from the Headmaster
...........................................................................................

"At LVS Ascot Junior School, we introduce children to the concept of opportunity; an opportunity to learn, to discover, to create and above all to unearth and maximise individual talent.
I believe that in life, it is essential to be able to work as part of a team, to develop successful friendships, to be able to recognise each other’s skills, and above all to make a valuable contribution to the well being and happiness of others.
School is the very first place we begin to learn these vital life skills and at LVS Ascot Junior School I am fortunate to have a committed, unique and talented team of staff experienced in their identification, nurturing and development.
School must be somewhere that your child considers fun, where they have opportunity, where they are challenged, and from where ultimately, they can embark on their own exciting voyage of discovery.
I am delighted to be a part of this journey and look forward to meeting you soon."
Nick Funnell
Headmaster

........................................................................................... About the Senior School ........................................................................................... LVS Senior School is LVS Ascot\'s day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 11 - 16, after which students move into our Sixth Form. Years 7 - 11 have an excellent student-teacher ratio with just over 100 pupils per year group, divided into 6 or 7 small teaching groups. Pupils are placed in teaching groups according to their individual academic needs but all follow the same curriculum, generally leading to GCSEs in Year 11 (although early entries are frequent). Pastoral support is an extremely important part of life at LVS and each student is placed in a tutor group and a school House, with a tutor who oversees their academic and personal development. An extensive co-curricular programme of visits, sports, music, drama and a diverse range of clubs, societies and activities forms an essential part of the LVS Senior School experience for both day and boarding pupils. ...........................................................................................
